Exalta Transport prides itself on having a modern, up to date fleet of equipment. Our oldest tractors are 4 years old, with new tractors added each year. Most of the highway fleet is Freightliner C120 models, powered by Mercedes Benz, Detroit Diesel or Cummins engines, and equipped with 12 speed automatic transmissions. These tractors are designed with specifications to make them perfectly suited to pull long combination vehicles (turnpike doubles-twin 53' trailers, rocky mountain doubles-a 48' and a 34'trailer, or triples-3 trailers each 34' long). All tractors are equipped with the Peoplenet on board computer and GPS system, allowing vehicle performance and location to be monitored for adherence to company standards. Drivers are in constant communication with dispatch and their hours of service are recorded electronically and available for dispatch review at any time. New tractors are on order for delivery in the spring.
The trailer fleet consists of dry vans, heated vans, refrigerated vans, flatdecks, container chassis's, and curtain side units. The trailers are of varying lengths from 28' to 53' in length and with either single, tandem, or tridem axles. Some units are equipped with railgates to assist in unloading. Some of the refrigerated units have multi temp capability to allow for the movement of both fresh and frozen commodities on the same load. New trailers are added annually and the next order of heated 53' vans is scheduled for delivery in the spring.
The city pickup and delivery fleet and the short haul regional delivery fleet has straight trucks with power tailgates for loading and unloading at customer's facilities that do not have docks. Trucks with refrigeration are also available for shipments requiring temperature control. New regional delivery units are on order for delivery in the spring.
